the RED TORTOISE is a symbol of unexpected beauty, and the art of noticing. Like the tortoise’s shell—with its many facets, each slightly different—great design and experiences reveal themselves through layers of nuance and surprise. I believe that’s where the magic lives.
My experience cocktail is one part editorial (magazine editor, writer, stylist), two parts product development (merchant, sourcing specialist, product designer), with a splash of marketing (creative director, event producer, connector) and a twist of operations, logistics and finance, definitely shaken, stirred and served up, over ice.
I have worked for incredible brands such as Matouk, Oscar de la Renta, Frontgate, and Scandia Home, in textiles, decorative accessories and tabletop. I have my own little red book of carefully cultivated factory relationships from all over the world.
As I kid I used to explore the historic neighborhoods of my town solo on my bike for hours —it was the free-range 70s—and in my mind I was cruising around in a fancy convertible. I would park my bike and knock on the doors of grand widows, who would invite me in for a cheese plate and a glimpse into their gracious homes. This innate curiosity always led me to interesting people, brands, travels and work. I harness my design eye with business insight and I have a deep understanding of the luxury market. I unite creativity with commerce—delivering collections and experiences that stand apart.
